Addiction recovery is ongoing. It will be a continuous struggle in the beginning stages. It gets better though, becoming a matter of day-to-day maintenance instead of conscious choices throughout the day. You will find that you have to refer to the lessons learned in recovery less and less. Instead of choices, you will have developed habits. No longer will you be consciously choosing to avoid drugs. Outpatient rehab facilities are one of many different types of addiction treatment programs available to people who suffer from alcoholism or drug addiction. They are generally about a month in length, though they can last as long as a year. Methamphetamine is an extremely addictive stimulant drug. It is commonly called meth or crystal meth, and less frequently speed, crystal, ice, Tina, and coffee. Methamphetamine was not illegal in the United States until 1983. It was actually used as a prescription drug in the 1950’s for a few conditions including alcoholism, obesity, and narcolepsy.
