When people think of child stars and things such as alcohol rehab, they tend to think of them as has-beens; they see a 35 year old who has not been able to do anything with their life past age 15. They see these people who have issues with their life, and think nothing of it when they hear that they’ve checked into alcohol rehab.

It is never good to hear about someone who is leaning toward drugs and alcohol. Unfortunately, children stars do not need to be “washed up” to have drug abuse problems.Haley Joel Osment, child star of the movie The Sixth Sense, is one such example. In 2006, Osment was involved in an accident. The child start hit a mailbox, and wound up flipping his car. This accident is scary, no doubt. What made this accident even worse, however, was the fact that he was found to be under the influence of alcohol. The judge sentenced him to a fine, a certain amount of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings, and to go through 60 hours of an alcohol rehab program.

It’s never a good thing to see anyone going through alcohol rehab. It’s even worse, however, to see someone enter alcohol rehab at a younger age. These child starts constantly have a spotlight on them; the media and nation want to know their every move. Sometimes, these child stars rebel, or make wrong decisions, just like the rest of society.

Osment paid his fine, went through his Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, and went through his mandatory alcohol rehab. Alcohol rehab is something that can help anyone dealing with an alcohol issue, famous or not. You don’t have to be a child star to make sure you get the help you need through alcohol rehab.
